22 August, 2018 (Toronto, ON) — Amanie Illfated has released ‘The Hills’, a catchy, dark indie pop/reggae song with an impactful message. The song was written by Amanie illfated and produced by Brampton’s Satnam Singh Chatha of 5 Rivers Entertainment. It is now available on all streaming services including Spotify, Apple Music and Tidal.
In the song, Amanie’s words speak to the experiences faced by refugees and immigrants in North America. She asks, “Should we be hated for wanting better lives” before listeners are serenaded by a guitar solo and re-immersed into the hypnotic chorus, which is a multilingual medley of greetings and a call-to-action to “run to the hills now”.
Amanie Illfated is a South Sudanese born, Toronto based indie/fusion singer, songwriter and model. She mixes her powerful voice with dynamic lyrics and an eclectic combination of Canadian and African sounds. She has been nominated for 2 awards in 2017 and her first self-titled EP was released in 2015 and had songs ‘You & Me’, ‘Letter to Myself’ and ‘Ultimate Candy’ played on radio stations in Canada, the US, the UK, Australia, Thailand and South Africa. She is currently working on a new album called ‘SATURN’ that is set to be released in October 2018 and will include the song ‘The Hills’.
